London Fischer LLP congratulates Jonathan Kranz and Michael Kranzler of the firm’s Florida office on their favorable resolution of a coverage dispute under a general liability policy arising out of the infamous 2017 Fyre Festival in the Bahamas.
The claimant brought the action in Florida state court, Orange County, to recover for damaged and destroyed equipment that was left in the Bahamas after the music festival famously failed.
Through targeted discovery and an early motion for summary judgment on certain key policy provisions, the dispute was successfully resolved in mediation for less than five percent of the seven-figure claim. This was a very favorable result for the firm’s client and dramatically reduced the defense spend.
