Daniel Zemann, JR. Scores A Hat Trick With Third Straight Defense Verdict

May 5, 2011

London Fischer LLP congratulates Daniel Zemann, Jr. in obtaining a unanimous defense verdict in Supreme Court, New York County in Greene v. The City of New York and Judlau Contracting, Inc. Plaintiff, a site inspector for Con Edison, alleged that he was injured while attempting to flee an excavation site in downtown Manhattan following a water main break. Plaintiff claimed that he was pulled to the ground by an employee of the Defendant who was also evacuating from area. Plaintiff alleged that he sustained serious injuries to his shoulder and back as a result of the accident, as well as a significant loss of income.

Through effective cross-examination of the Plaintiff, and through the testimony of key non-party witnesses contradicting Plaintiff's version of the events, Mr. Zemann successfully convinced the jury that Plaintiff's accident simply could not have occurred in the manner alleged by Plaintiff. After only 15 minutes of deliberation, the jury returned a unanimous verdict for the defense.
