Wendy Keenan leads London Fischer’s Cybersecurity – Insurance Coverage, Response, and Defense practice, which was created to assist insurers and their policyholders with combating cyber threats from all over the world. To date, her team has addressed more than 250 cyber claims of various types, such as ransomware attacks, phishing/spoofing claims, network/security breaches, and third-party claims. She and her team take a proactive approach to defending cybersecurity class action litigation by developing early resolution strategies, either through direct discussions or alternative dispute resolution.

In addition to leading the firm’s Cybersecurity practice, Wendy assists with overseeing the firm’s Program Management team, a dedicated group of attorneys providing comprehensive claims management, insurance coverage analysis, and risk management services to domestic, London, and Bermuda-based insurers. In this capacity, she manages and investigates complex claims involving various insured professionals, such as lawyers, accountants, architects, engineers, technical consultants, and insurance agents, offering coverage opinions, assessing liability, and formulating early resolution strategies. She also has extensive expertise in handling all property-related classes.

Wendy also directly represents insureds in employment practices and architects and engineering matters, approaching each case from the dual perspective of both lawyer and businessperson to determine the most legally savvy and cost-effective way to resolve a particular claim.

One of Wendy's standout strengths is her ability to craft and tailor insurance policies and endorsements to precisely meet her clients' unique needs. Earlier in her career, Wendy gained valuable experience by being seconded to a Lloyd's syndicate, deepening her understanding of the insurance industry. She is also a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).

Beyond her litigation prowess, Wendy is a sought-after speaker, contributing her insights at numerous industry conferences and seminars. Most recently, the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance invited her to speak at its 2023 annual conference on a panel addressing cyber-related claims handling from both a defense and coverage perspective. The panel, titled “I Don't Handle Cyber Claims But My Insured Just Reported a Cyber Related Loss ... What Do I Do I?”, also featured claims executives from two leading insurers of cyber risks.

Among some of her other notable recent presentations are:

  • A presentation for an international insurance company on “First- and Third-Party Cyber Claims” and “How to Write a Reservation of Rights letter”.
  • A webinar for more than 95 claims executives at a prominent international insurer on allocation in connection with an insurer’s duty to pay covered vs. non-covered claims, including defense costs and indemnity.

Outside of her career commitments, Wendy channels her energy into kickboxing and mastering the martial art of Taekwondo, where she proudly holds the esteemed title of 1st Dan Black Belt and stands as an esteemed member of the Recon Competition Team – Poomsae. Her spirit of adventure also leads her to explore the world through travel.
