John Sparling was chosen for the second straight year to conduct a roundtable session at the annual Claims and Litigation Management Alliance conference held in San Diego, California from March 28-30, 2012. This event was the one of the largest, fully inclusive defense industry conferences of 2012 and drew thousands of attendees from around the world. Mr. Sparling is a CLM member and his session was called "Litigation Management - Cutting Edge Risk Management Techniques in High Profile Construction Wrap-Up Projects" particularly, the Lincoln Center Campus Rehabilitation, the Madison Square Garden Renovation and the construction of the New Yankee Stadium.
Mr. Sparling moderated the session alongside guest speakers Kevin King, Vice President of Claims and Legal Services for Turner Construction and Charlie O'Connor, Senior Vice President and Manager for Liability Claims for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Both Liberty and Turner are significant clients of the firm. Substantial credit is given to senior associates Scott Shapiro and Christopher Ruggiero, for their efforts in preparing for this session.
Mr. Sparling's practice includes the representation of general contractors, owners, insurers and product manufacturers in, among other things, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden and the Hearst Tower headquarters in New York. Mr. Sparling is also involved in the World Trade Center 9/11 cleanup litigation involving over 10,000 lawsuits.
