John Encarnacion is Of Counsel in the Philadelphia office, where his diverse litigation experience includes handling products liability, construction, transportation liability, and commercial litigation matters for both plaintiffs and defendants.

Prior to joining London Fischer LLP, John was a Senior Trial Attorney at Nationwide, where he led its Trial Division’s subrogation efforts in Pennsylvania.  He contributed significantly to yearly subrogation recoveries of over $3 million while also representing insureds in property defense matters.  Additionally, John previously worked at a large Philadelphia law firm in its Commercial Litigation and Property-Subrogation departments.  With the assistance of local counsel, he litigated matters as lead counsel in twenty-five states. 

With prior roles both in-house and a large law firm in subrogation, defense, and commercial litigation, John provides perspective on strategies that parties on all sides of litigation undertake and adapts to challenges posed in cases of varying subject areas.

John has been active in both the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania (serving as President and other officer positions) and the Philadelphia Bar Association (serving on the Board of Governors).   He is a frequent panelist and speaker on a variety of topics. Additionally, while in college, he was a former Division I varsity wrestler.    

Notable Decisions/Results

John successfully appealed a lower court’s adverse summary judgment order and obtained reversal in the Pennsylvania Superior Court in Nationwide a/s/o Strunk v. Modern Gas.
