Mr. Doctors is a partner in the Firm's Los Angeles office.  He has a significant insurance coverage background.  For the last 25 years, he has provided underwriting, coverage and claims counsel to insurers regarding complex risks and high-severity losses.  He represents insurers in insurance disputes on a broad range of issues arising under primary and excess policies and reinsurance coverages, with particular emphasis on professional liability and general liability coverage claims involving toxic tort, products, construction, healthcare, environmental and other long-tail liabilities, personal and advertising injury coverage and errors and omissions insurance and the “bad faith” issues arising from such disputes.

Mr. Doctors has defended first-party and third-party declaratory relief and bad faith actions, and has been involved in numerous inter-carrier contribution actions. He has worked with underwriters to craft policy language.  He has also been retained as an expert.

Additionally, Mr. Doctors has litigated and supervised numerous multi-million dollar matters in a wide array of practice areas including commercial law, construction law, product liability and general liability and professional liability, including lawyer’s professional liability.  He has appeared as counsel of record in state and federal courts outside of California, including those in Arizona, Montana, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Wyoming.  He obtained a $3.4 million judgment against a global construction management company in an arbitrated construction dispute.

Mr. Doctors also has extensive appellate experience and has had several California published decisions: Sargoy v. Resolution Trust Corp., 8 Cal.App.4th 1039 (1992); Oh v. Teachers Ins. & Annuity Assn. of America 53 Cal.App.5th 71 (2020) and Horne v. Ahern Rentals, Inc., 50 Cal. App. 5th 192 (2020).

He is licensed to practice law in both California and Nevada.
