Our surety practice is enhanced by a strong expertise in the construction field, which includes the representation of real estate property owners and developers, contractors and subcontractors, architects and engineers and their insurers. We also have extensive experience representing fidelity insurers involving both domestic and London market insurers. We have handled the investigation and defense of claims brought under financial institution and fiduciary bonds including check and securities forgery, and fiduciary and employee dishonesty claims.

We have recently handled claims such as those involving the surety on a large nursing home project in New York City, the performance bond under a trucking contract, and payment and performance bonds on new hotel construction in Florida. These claims involved completion of construction by a surety, payments to subcontractors, and materialmen, and fraudulent alteration of a bond leading to a federal securities fraud felony conviction and avoidance of the altered instruments.
