Professional Experience

Prior to joining London Fischer LLP in 2004, Mr. Bantis served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Gulf Insurance Group (a member of Travelers) in New York City.

As General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Gulf, Mr. Bantis was responsible for all legal affairs for Gulf’s five U.S. domestic insurance companies, as well as its UK-based operations, including claims/litigation, corporate mergers and acquisitions, insurance regulatory affairs, product development and state filings, agency contracts and reinsurance contract drafting and arbitrations.

Prior to joining Gulf Insurance Group in 1989, Mr. Bantis was an Associate Attorney with another prominent New York City law firm where he represented insurance company clients, primarily in the areas of directors and officers liability, fidelity and professional liability.

Insurance and reinsurance counseling and coverage analysis in the areas of directors and officers liability, professional liability, employment liability and complex general liability insurance; insurance and reinsurance arbitrator and expert witness on various industry disputes; underwriting and risk assessments; insurance regulatory matters before relevant government agencies; and, representation of clients in litigation, arbitration and other alternative dispute forums.
